What are some reasons why my principal should allow us students to go off-campus for lunch?

Elli O. asked:
Each of my classmates, including myself, are writing a persuasive article to my principal in order for her to allow us to eat lunch off-campus. Could you give me good reasons for her to really get persuaded to allow us.?
Thanks for Everything..

no…because its not a good idea because students that are late try to speed thus getting into accidents. Plus they have no idea where youre going and might be heldliable if anything happans, so no not really
However if you are in elementary and accompanied by a gurdian then i see no reason why…maybe students that try to break health code so they can have their way………but if thats not the case its unfair indeed.

hmm… lets see. none, there is no reason that you need to go off campus, your parents entrust your safety to the school during school hours, and the best way to keep you safe is to keep you on campus, so stay on campus and quit complaining

1) Limited Menu on Campus.
2) Would help to build individual Responsibility ( Have to get back to Class ON TIME).
3) It would give the Students a little “Break” from Studies.
4) It would help to learn How it works in the “Job Environment” once they Graduate.
5) this would give the students a “Head Start” when they do go to work.

I disagree with those who say that high schoolers are irresponsible when it comes to open campus lunches. At our school, juniors and seniors have open campus lunch. However, the administration retains the right to revoke a student’s privilege if he or she chooses to abuse it.
Reasons? Going home for lunch is cheaper. Recognize that not all students will go home every day, but that many will. Take some of the pressure off of the lunch ladies. Our high school has 900+ students, and a lunch room that holds about 100-150. Trying to move 500 people through the lunch line in a period is absurd. It is good for us students to realize that we have a privilage that could be taken away at any time. For sophomores that don’t pass enough classes to be considered juniors — no open campus. for students that continually show up late after leaving the building - no more open campus. for students that rush out of the parking lot and get in an accident — no more open campus.
Local businesses get a boost from the highschoolers dropping money there every day (although you may have to decide between the saving money arguement and the spending money arguement..)
Hope this helps… Open campus is sweet, and I’m sorry you don’t have the pleasure!
